Sit yourself down Jon and answer a few questions

I know Jon as a harmony singer, guitar player, photographer and woodsman. He does a great cover of Red Winged Blackbird by David Francey and knows more sea shanties than I knew existed. Here is a little more about who he is behind the scenes:

What is your first memory?
I actually remember sitting in my high chair being fed baby food by my father. I guess that began my life-long obsession with food.

What is your favourite flavour?
I suspect I share this in common with half the world. Chocolate.

If you could have pursued another profession other than the one you are in, what would it be?
I think I would have been an archaeologist. I have an insatiable curiosity and archaeology is all about literally digging for information.

Which talent would you most like to have?
While I dabble in a bit of music now, I really wish I could be a great guitar player. I have friends who are great musicians and I know that when they are really playing intensely they are transported somewhere else. I would really like to be able to go there.

What quality do you most admire in a man? A woman? A child?
The quality I admire most in any other human being is an ability to really connect with others. Some people have the ability to deeply empathize with people. I think children come by it naturally but often have it taken out of them by the world around them.

Who was your favourite Sesame Street character?
Definitely Kermit. He transcended Sesame Street and was everywhere in the Henson universe.

I have several but I think Ray Bradbury is my first choice. His book “Something Wicked This Way Comes” is on of the first books I ever read and it made a huge impression on me.

What is your mother’s best trait? Your father’s?
My Mother’s best trait was her imagination. My Father’s best trait was his ability to recognize skills in people.

Thanks for the mental challenge. Not often lately I use that part of my brain. – Jon
