Happy New Year

Christmas has come and gone and we now know that the scary mysterious gift was just a bird-feeder after all.

In the words of Tom Lehrer.......

Boxing day came and I started my Boxing day puzzle:

Egrets are old hat now.

and the stork came and went, welcome to the world little Melody, congratulations Chad and Patricia (please send a pic!)

Long Point campground came and went and we moved on to our next destination:

Knight's Key, Marathon, Florida.

and I got myself some nice leg tattoos to dress things up for New Year’s.

Fishnet stocking tattoos - the heights of hussydom.

Just kidding, they are the shadows of a chain link fence. New Year’s Eve came and went and we celebrated with Key Lime Pie because we are in the Florida Keys.

Today is New Year’s Day and we have pretty much settled into the nomad life. I am trying to keep up with the Blog but

on the down-side, the internet sucks here. And it is so hot that I could poke my eyes out.

I just do what I'm told.

I just do what I’m told.

Just kidding.

What?

What?

On the up-side I am losing things in the camper less often and am even finding things that I didn’t know I had lost (I’ll post your Christmas card tomorrow Angela; just found it in a plain brown wrapper) and today I was delighted to finally see a real live manatee.

I couldn't get enough of these lazy beasts.

I couldn’t get enough of these lazy beasts.

A conversation ensued dockside. Me: “that has to be the laziest looking creature I have ever seen.” Random lady: “no, the sloth is. They are the laziest creatures in existence.” Local trailer dude: “But at least a sloth got limbs and climbs. These thangs ain’t got s__t!”

Just love those manatee nostrils.

And now it is 2015. The internet tells me not to make resolutions, that it is better to state intentions. So this coming year I intend to keep doing what I am doing because this is all the excitement I can handle. Now please excuse me, I need to see about a cup of tea. As if it’s not hot enough already!
