…or how we went looking for Christmas in Florida and found it here:

We were looking for Christmas in Florida and found it right here.

Christmas is not just at the North Pole we discovered.

and we made up our own kind of Christmas with family at the vacation rental in Cape Canaveral:

Now this morning, Christmas morning, I am sitting at Long Point Park campground at Melbourne Beach Florida, missing the bustle of family. A night heron slips through a gap in the mangroves,

Just passing through.

and like a ballet dancer with a groin injury, takes a few hesitant steps before it disappears back into the greenery.

Yes it is a very different Christmas here in Florida. The camper bathtub is full of oranges and limes, a limb of the Christmas Basil tree has been sacrificed for our breakfast omelette (made with red and green peppers to make it seasonal) and a box of Ethel M liqueur chocolates is calling me from across the camper. I resist for now. I Loves Christmas anywhere!!
