…or Our Last Day in Our Winter Retreat
I am way behind in my Blog. My goal is to catch up over the next couple of weeks. Here is an album from our last day in Florida:
Breakfast is always good.
Leaves fall in the spring here too so I had to rake for the first time in my life. They quickly filled my new compost bin and I still had three quarters of the yard to clear.
I was a little alarmed to rake up this giant spider!
In trying to befriend it I discovered it to be someone’s fake Halloween spider. Real spiders have eight eyes, not two evil ones.
I also raked clear a welcome mat I didn’t know we had. The excitement never ends…
Then it was off to the Laundromat where I read Cosmo and watched the Spanish lads fold their clothes.
Classic Laundromat décor.
In the afternoon I decided I would peruse a box of Lance’s mother’s recipe cards. Hmm, perhaps I could try and make them all.
I started with Apple Brown Betty.
There’s dessert taken care of.
After supper I made another entry in my Sketch-a Day book.
I stepped outside to wander in the garden before dark and found a beautiful flower growing randomly under a tree – a magnolia?
I admired the sunset
but hurried inside as soon as the creepy cats came out.
So no more Florida tales until November. I think I blogged our return trip as far as Raleigh. Next stop DC. (I was excited to see spring at that point but now Milton has surpassed it – better telling it late than never I suppose) © Judy Parsons 2015 Click on any photo for a larger view.
