Playing Santa

demented Santa

Ah, the pre-Christmas season is something to behold. Santa and his imitators are everywhere you look. No elves though. They are busy in the workshop adding the final touches of paint and glue. Me, well, I’m gearing up. I just finished wrapping up parcels to send away. This is my last year for parcels. Next year I am scaling back to cards because I am hoping that by then Christmas will  find me swinging in a hammock in a locale which would make Santa sweat like Mrs. Claus going through the change. In the meantime, Christmas has taken over the house.

I love the colour and chaos of the wrapping process. My spare room is temporarily out of order and out of bounds.

I find that using the ironing board as a wrapping station takes the strain off the back.

The first of the Christmas baking is done and eaten. These were for the kids of some colleagues although I hear that some of them never made it home to the kids but were devoured in the car.

They look a little demented, don’t you think? They don’t look half as demented as this Value Village Santa. Check it out: (the video is a little quirky and seems to work better the second time it’s played)

I think that they must have used an old mechanical Elvis frame for this fellow. Jolly old Saint Nick indeed.
