Happy Soxing Day

It’s the little things that make for a good day, don’t you think? Like being able to identify a yellow-rumped warbler or admiring the perfection of a tiny acorn (although they sound like a gunshot when they hit the steel roof of our screen-porch)

I can be sent into raptures by finding a funky pattern in my watermelon ( I think it even better in black and white)

And then today there was the ceremonial breaking of the turkey’s wishbone (yes I know, I said turkey, I seem to have gotten over the great turkey incident of 2007) and it snapped so that we each broke off exactly the same size – we are so sympatico! There is perfect joy in finding a Goodwill store wool winder

just when I need it, or in receiving a Snapchat photo of my daughter’s Christmas socks. Which brings me to today’s theme: SOXING DAY. Let me model a few pairs of my current Christmas sock collection. Sadly my musical socks have expired after a few too many trips through the washing machine.

Migraine aura socks.

These are exactly like the little zigzags I see just before a migraine headache starts. If you don’t have headaches, you likely will after looking at these socks for too long.

Formal Santa socks.

These are just right for that special evening out.

Irish Santa socks.

But these are the best – grand for sittin’ back and havin’ a small glass of stout and digestin’ or relaxin’ or whatever it is you do when you’re not workin’. These are super-special aloe infused socks to make your feet extra happy.

Whaaat?

Well maybe the glass of stout is not so small, but I’m only having one!!
