….or the magic of alpacas (or is it alpaci? or alpaca for one or many? I should look that up)

But first, this is the reason I haven’t been posting much lately:

but it’s a long story for another day. In the meantime I would like to share some photos from our visit to Alpaca Magic farm in Homosassa, Florida. This is a privately owned alpaca breeding farm but they also have a sideline of yarn and all things alpaca. A happier bunch of animals you could never meet. They reminded me of well-loved stuffed toys or puppets. With funky teeth. Here are just a few of the photos I took:

They don't appear shy but don't try to pet them; they spit stinky, sticky spot gobs.

The owner advised best let them come to you.

And they did, in all shapes and colours and sizes.

They all looked like they were expecting something from me. But what were they expecting?

It was baby season on the farm and this little fellow could only just wobble.

Part 2 coming your way soon; a visit to the wool shop and a walk through the gardens of Alpaca Magic. And a big thanks to the owners for opening their farm to the public. They will even sell you an alpaca if you want your very own. Tempting.
