Travel-Blog #16

……or Arts and Crafts.

There’s plenty of ways to pass the time on the road. My favourite is sitting in the sun with a pen in my hand just in case I think of something I wish to write down. When weather or fatigue necessitates sticking close to home, I take out the sewing or knitting.

Badly needed to hem my whale pants to keep them from dragging through the muddy campsites.

I brought my carving tools but have only whittled out of necessity so far.

I needed a crochet hook to finish off these mini stockings so I carved one out of a wooden sandwich pick.

I forgot to pack a rolling pin so I whittled a camper sized one out of a piece of North Carolina driftwood.

The mini stocking that I knit made for some great impromptu Christmas décor.

And then there’s the sock monkeys. They keep me busy while Lance is driving.

My own personal monkey. This one is the deluxe version from alpaca yarn.

I have made little of what you would call art. Some quick sketches. Here is one of my favourite photos:

Again, apologies for limited postings. I am sitting right  now in the clubhouse of the campsite – the only place I can get internet. Have to rush though because it is really difficult to concentrate when they are calling Bingo. Thank you to my faithful readers who keep checking in.
