Boatbuilding

The boat progresses. Today I installed the combing around the cockpit opening. It was glued up into an oval last night and today I sanded it smooth and rounded the edge with a router. It took me most of the day to work up  the nerve to go near my precious boat with a power tool but the edge needed rounding and  once I got started I quite enjoyed it, despite the noise. The job was slightly rough in spots but easily remedied with a little sanding. Next, it was glued and clamped to the hull. Like I said before, I am now the Queen of Clamps.

Clamped combing.

Clamped combing.

Nest step is to make the hatch openings. I’ll try and get an early start tomorrow. Everything always takes twice as long as I think it will.
